Coffee With Lenny, Part 1
Coffee With Lenny, Part 1
I'd been down for awhile. Nothing special, or important was happening at that time and I was getting bored. I always get down when I'm bored. This one night in particular I was sitting outside the local coffee shop reading a book of short stories. my attention span was never long enough for a novel, unless it was really good. As I'm sitting there I put down the book and light a cigarette. at that moment an elderly man approached my table. I'm not usually a friendly guy and generally hate people approaching me in any way.
"what are you reading?" He asked me.
"It's a book of short stories by Charles Bukowski, he's a bit of a bastard but I like his style."
"What class is it for?"
"No class. pleasure."
"People still do that?"
"I'm old fashioned"
"mind if i sit?"
I said I didn't at that momeny, but I really did. It was a good story. He sat down and we started to talk at a time when i didn't want to talk. We started talking about everything; Hemmingway, pastrami, Louis Prima, his old war buddies, my drunken idiot friends, sex, marriage, and education. It was a good night, we're planning on doing it again
Girl, Crazy
Girl, Crazy
At this point in my life I have realized something very interesting about girls in my age range. They're crazy. This isn't meant to be mean, or malicious, and it's not about any girl in particular. I have realized that I will never find a sane girl at this point, there is no such thing. There are only different levels of insanity among the 20 something females. In order for me to find one that will work, I will have to decide how much, and what type of insanity I am willing to deal with. There are the crazy girls who are down right insane; they have no sense of feeling (except their own), they have no emotional outlet, they can't for the life of them get a grasp on their feelings. Then there are the sleeping crazy girls, you don't realize they are crazy until you are too far involved to back out for fear of causing this girl even more apparent "trauma" that she has dealt with her whole life. The one i think i can tolerate, and hopefully deal with are the fun crazy girls; they don't get jealous, they want to go out, they want to be around your friends, and they want to have fun. That last bit not make a girl sound crazy to most, but to me she is. She's crazy because there are very few of those girls that I have met as of yet, and if there are so few of them, it has to be some sort of disorder. I hate to boil people down to stereotypes, and archetypes, but I do it anyways, I have to everything in my life I have to boil down to some simple logical reasoning.
